National Education Team

The National Education Team (NET) assists the National Technical Committees (NTC) in conducting and managing the SkillsUSA Championships and assists with communicating the industry expectations for the quality of instruction and professional development in occupational areas represented in the SkillsUSA Championships. NET members may also be called upon throughout the year for their insights and expertise. Individuals selected for the National Education Team cannot have student supervisory responsibilities during the NLSC.

State associations may nominate educators who are paid professional members of SkillsUSA. The nominee should be a current or retired educator who is skilled in the subject area(s) for which they are nominated and actively supports their state conference.

For more information on the roles and responsibilities for National Education Team (NET) members and process for nominating members or applying to serve, visit: National Education Team Policy.

Nomination Process

  1. Nominations will be considered once the Office of Championships has received the completed nomination form with a signed letter from the local administrator, if applicable. Appointment to a competition is contingent upon the need and/or request for an NET member from the applicable technical committee. Nominees also should be active within their state conferences and are required to be paid professional members of the SkillsUSA state and national association.

  2. Nominees are responsible for seeking support from the state director and requesting a letter of support from a local/district administrator before completing the online nomination form.

  3. NET will then complete an online nomination form and submit their signed letter at: National Education Team Nomination Form

  4. The state association director will review the nominee’s qualifications provided by the Office of Championships and signify endorsement by submitting an online form included in the notification process.

  5. The SkillsUSA national staff and appropriate national technical committee chairs will review nominations.

  6. The SkillsUSA national headquarters will notify nominees, technical committee chairs and state association directors once an appointment is confirmed.
